hey y’all. Coming at you after a 24-hour print edition design marathon that ended with me falling ill. Is it pink eye? Is it a stress-related physical disintegration? No idea, but what I do know is that we have our prototype, the print edition is 97% complete, and Friday is the last day to guarantee yourself a copy. It feels unreal that it’s almost time to get these babies printed and off to the post office, but that’s not interesting to you, what’s interesting to you is (I hope) the gentle-yet-insistent reminder that pre-ordering is the only way to guarantee you get yourself a copy, and that you can do so here: www.talkvomit.com/print.
Why is that? Because this is the first time we’ve printed TV, we’re a lit mag with zero funding outside reader support, and both of those things combined result in a very limited release.
AND, because we simply love doing everything all at once, this is also a book club week! As usual, book club will take place virtually via Zoom at 8 p.m. on Thursday, with the option for Substack-based chat component. We are reading In the Dream House by Carmen Maria Machado.
That’s all y’all. Please send Mary all of your virtual applause and maybe also IRL applause for spending two days straight sitting at my kitchen island and adjusting font sizes, and also your prayers that she does not come down with conjunctivitis. We love you, Mary!
xoxo
