Did that make it past your spam filter?? Hopefully, because pre-orders for Talk Vomit’s summer ‘23 quarterly are *matthew mcconaughey voice” l-i-v-e. We did raise our price a bit (you live, you learn making your own magazine is more expensive than you think), but we’re offering a $4 discount for Substack subscribers. That’s you, or else it’s YOU (I’m speaking to folks who lurk without subscribing). To get the discount, use the code LMAO at checkout.
AND we have decided to also offer an electronic version of the print quarterly for only $5, something we’re really excited about and wish we had the foresight to do in the spring. Again, living, learning, etc. Here’s the link to the store.
I’m really excited about this issue. Obviously, I have a horse in this race, but the work we’re featuring is so… Talk Vomit-y, you know? And I’m just so thrilled about that.
Since I’m here, have you been reading our book club pick for June? It’s Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus. Mary and I both actually finished reading it this afternoon. We make it a point not to discuss the books before book club actually meets, but we’ve both confessed this book was not at all what it was pitched as — in a good way. Obviously, we thought the premise sounded interesting enough to read, but the book itself is much more than the premise. You following? There’s still time for you to read it (it’s only June 15!). We’re still finalizing this month’s meeting date bc summer is an unpredictable beast full of, specifically, holidays, weddings, and job changes, all three of which are leaving us in scheduling limbo. But fear not, we’ll land on a time and date and let you know. And! We will also be discussing the book on our Instagram, and on Substack chat, so look out for that.
Following zero SEO rules here, so I’m going to stop here. Love you all!
xoxo
Monica
P.S. we’re trying to be able to pay our writers. Want to help us? Become a paying subscriber to our Substack. Thank you!!!
